About Sheung Wan

Sheung Wan is where old Hong Kong and new Hong Kong collide in the most fascinating way. Dried seafood shops sit next to contemporary art galleries. Incense from Man Mo Temple drifts past the doors of specialty coffee shops. It's a neighbourhood that's fiercely proud of its heritage while embracing creative, modern energy.

Our Sheung Wan property is on Queen's Road West, a walk-up building in a classic Hong Kong residential block. The property has character — you'll use a key to open the metal gate and climb the stairs to the 2nd floor, where a bubble light above the door marks your new home. It's intimate and authentic.

Location-wise, Sheung Wan is perfectly positioned. You're within walking distance of Central (about 15 minutes east along Hollywood Road or the waterfront), and Sai Ying Pun MTR is a 2-minute walk for quick access to the Island Line. Hollywood Road, Hong Kong's oldest street, runs through the neighbourhood — it's famous for antique shops, galleries, and Cat Street Market.

The food and drink scene in Sheung Wan is excellent and eclectic. You'll find everything from legendary noodle shops (Kau Kee has had queues since the 1920s) to hidden speakeasy bars and third-wave coffee roasters. PoHo (the area around Po Hing Fong and Tai Ping Shan Street) is particularly charming, with a village-like atmosphere.

Sheung Wan suits creative professionals, art lovers, and anyone who appreciates character and history in their neighbourhood. It's less polished than Central but more interesting, with a genuine sense of place that's increasingly rare in modern Hong Kong.
